The Florida Strawberry Festival has been on our to-do-in-Florida list for a while, so when it finally came time for the festival, we knew we had to go. Cory’s brother Jackson and his girlfriend Abbey were visiting us at the time and they thought it sounded fun too. The festival is held in Plant City every year, which is known for its strawberries fields. It’s about a 45 min drive from us in Orlando.
We had looked at some of the featured food before we left, so the highlight of this adventure was going to be the thick cut bacon with milk chocolate and the donut burger. Unfortunately we did not find the donut burger, but we did find the bacon! I cannot explain how amazing this bacon and chocolate combination was. The picture does not do it justice and it will forever be in my dreams.

The other highlight of the day was the make your own strawberry shortcake booth. Cory and Abbey walked away with a pile of homemade whipped cream on top of their strawberries and they looked like they were in heaven. The festival had all kinds of strawberry related food. Strawberry lemonade, strawberry cheesecake, strawberry ice cream, strawberry bread, strawberry tea, and of course baskets full of fresh Florida strawberries! They also had normal festival food like grilled corn, pizza, popcorn and the elusive donut hamburger.

Besides food there were all kinds of carnival rides and musical performances. We really enjoyed seeing all of the animals from local farms and even got to see a cow show! Vendors were set up in booths so we shopped around and Cory ended up buying some local honey. They had some really interesting things for sale we’ve never seen before such as candles that look like actual pies. Seriously they looked exactly like real pies it was weird.
